I think if you dropped Jame into a totalitarian state, she might destroy it, but have nothing to put in its place, She's not very political. In the Kencyrath, at least Tori would have some idea what to do next, and Kindrie would be there to balance them. Something like that, anyway. But yes, Kindrie is potentially stronger than either of them. About the "work in progress" page, I tried to post something there but it seems to be another ghost gallery, with controls unconnected to the site. Am finding a lot of those. Glad you liked the Holmes story. I have a few copies of the Casebook, but don't think Hypatia ever made it generally available, or printed more than a couple of copies. Alan Newcomer of Hypatia may have more, if they survived a disastrous apartment fire, but I no longer know how to reach him. Yes, I generally think a lot about the etymology of names. One trick I use is to think of a word that best describes a character, check a good thesaurus, and then go to the OED. As I recall, though, Restormir is a variation on the name of real castle in England. Not all my names are hits. At least this one has "storm" in the middle of it. |
